I think 2.5 is really going to get people excited again about blogging.

And you’re doing a great job of representing the community that’s behind all of it.

I’ve tried someones WP5 test site and I notice a little ‘problem’… it also happened to WP2.3

When I edit a widget… text widget, I can’t ‘higlight’ texts. Lets say I want to higligts some texts to be copied or to cut, I can’t do that. I’m using IE7 and Vista… any idea why?

I went looking for the bit in the Codex you mentioned for reordering the blogroll to most recently updated, and found this useful-looking thread:

Yet - RC1 is out - so people can use that if they like. So while the complete version may not be ready to roll, this is probably as good as we’re going to get for now.

@swordie - That’s an IE7 problem. It causes all sorts of weird problems with WordPress. Use FireFox and you’re good to go.

I’ve installed the first release candidate from the wordpress.org website, and i must say .. Evrything just works fine and the new ‘looks’ are also a pretty thing for the eye! ;)

For a little more informationabout searchme.com’s obnoxious bot see this site…

I’ve also reduced the amount of posts on the front page of my blog to 5 considering that you both said it took a while to load. The thing is the server I am on is rubbish so I really need to move to another host who can actually serve the site quicker because as much stuff as is on the site, it shouldn’t really take that long to load.

Anyway, another great show guys. I too use the radio talk when referring to podcasts by the way.

Oh and another thing, I ‘no opinioned’ on the poll just because nobody did last time and I feel that we shouldn’t neglect that no opinion :-)

Oh and PS. Your ‘Sign me up for a free Gravatar!’ thing didn’t seem to work for me. I also went over the the plugins website and found a few people complaining that it didn’t send the confirmation email - Just thought I’d make you aware of that.

When can we expect to see an official release date for 2.5? I am using svn to keep my blogg up to date and are using 2.5.RC1 at the moment. Would be nice to have a time frame for when to update again :>

  12. swordie March 20th, 2008 7:25 pm

Tadd#… Thanks for the advice. It works fine with FireFox now :D

Can’t believe the IE is doing this :(

  13. John Pozadzides March 23rd, 2008 5:14 pm

I’m using the 2.5 RC1 download currently, and it rocks!

Hello, Have you had any reports of your audio player not working since the recent Firefox 2.0.0.13 update? I use the player on several sites in many dozens of instances. I f you could let me know if you’re also experiencing a problem with Firefox I’d appreciate it. Perhaps Firefox and/or 1 Pixel Out can be persuaded to remedy this.
